[REVERDE · MOBILE PRODUCT CONCEPT]
Turning the intention to spend time in nature into a nearby, achievable action.
Reverde helps urban adults find a nearby nature activity that realistically fits their day. Each mission brings together the practical details needed before heading outside, while private reflection and local events remain optional.
[01 · THE TENSION]
Wanting to get outside still leaves a decision to make.
Reverde focuses on the moment between wanting more contact with nature and choosing an activity that feels realistic today. Screen-heavy urban routines provide the context, not the product outcome.
WORKING ASSUMPTION
Uncertainty about where to go, how long it will take and what to expect may keep an intention from becoming a plan.
[02 · THE EVIDENCE]
Wanting more nature contact did not always translate into knowing how to begin.
Participants described time constraints, transport difficulties and uncertainty about where to go or what an activity would require. These accounts emerged from 12 semi-structured interviews exploring motivations for nature contact and barriers to acting on them.
Nature also offered connection beyond language.
Some participants adapting to an unfamiliar culture described nature as especially meaningful when language made other forms of connection harder.
SUPPORTING LITERATURE
Research with adults links nature contact with self-reported health and wellbeing, while urban green-space studies document practical and social barriers to participation.

Research scope
RESEARCH SCOPE
The interviews offer exploratory insights from a small sample, not findings representative of all urban adults. They help frame the opportunity; whether Reverde’s proposed experience addresses these barriers remains to be tested.
[03 · THE REFRAME]
I focused on helping people assess whether a nearby activity fits their day.
Practical suitability became the organising principle for discovery. The uncertainty participants described led me to prioritise information that helps someone judge the commitment before deciding to go.
[04 · PRODUCT DIRECTION]
Three product decisions turn intention into a realistic way to act.
REVERDE is structured around one central experience and two supporting paths. Guide forms the core experience; Reflect can extend a completed mission privately, while Belong provides an independent route into local participation.
Guide — Make the next step into nature clear, local and realistic.
Surface nearby missions with enough practical context to assess their time, effort and access requirements.
Reflect — Support private, restorative reflection without performance mechanics.
Offer a private way to record what mattered without making reflection part of completing the mission.
Belong — Enable event-led local participation without social-performance pressure.
Make local events directly accessible while keeping an ongoing Circle connection a separate choice.
[05 · CORE EXPERIENCE]
A clear mission path leads from discovery to offline action.
Users find a nearby mission, decide whether it fits their day and complete the activity offline.
- DISCOVERA nearby mission
- CHECK FITTime · effort · access
- COMPLETEThe mission offline
[06 · GUIDE]
A nearby activity is only useful when someone can judge whether it fits their day.
REVERDE separates quick comparison from informed commitment. Mission previews support scanning, while Mission Details holds the fuller context needed before starting.
Keep everyday constraints visible during discovery.
Filters narrow the available missions around time, travel mode, effort and access. Result cards keep the most decision-relevant details visible so options can be compared before opening one.
Give the decision more room than the preview.
Mission Details brings together the starting point, travel and activity time, terrain, access information and purpose. Placing this context one level deeper keeps discovery concise without asking users to decide from a summary alone.
Keep essential guidance available as the activity moves offline.
The handoff pairs a short activity instruction with relevant route information. Users can put the phone away and return to the guidance only when needed.
Edge states and local information
Discovery should not depend on location access.
Users can choose an area manually when location access is unavailable. If no missions match, the empty state points to the area and filters they can adjust.
Local information needs a defined source.
Route, access and condition information would require a sourcing and review process before a real-world trial.
[07 · REFLECT]
Finishing a mission does not require creating a Journal entry.
Completion and documentation remain separate in the interface. Only reflections the user explicitly saves appear in the private Journal.
Leave the meaning of the experience to the person who lived it.
“What did you notice?” offers one open prompt rather than a guided sequence. It leaves the user—not the product—to decide what the experience meant.
Preserve context around the memory.
Saved entries bring the reflection together with its mission, place and date. The Journal makes these experiences available to revisit without turning them into scores, streaks or public achievements.
Revisit a private memory with its place and date.
Empty Journal
An empty Journal leaves room for a first memory.
The empty state explains that entries appear when the user saves a reflection. It introduces the Journal without setting a target or asking for a record of every activity.
[08 · BELONG]
Join a shared activity without committing to an ongoing group.
Belong uses Events as the primary entry point to local participation. Event Details keeps the immediate commitment in focus, while information about the host remains secondary.
Make the practical and social commitment clear.
Event Details brings together the programme, time, pace, access information, expected group size and participation expectations. Users can understand what to bring and what taking part involves before deciding to join.
Keep one event and an ongoing connection as separate choices.
Joining an Event does not require following its Circle. Host context remains accessible from Event Details, while following is a separate action for people who want to hear about future activities.
Full events and host information
A full event still offers a next step.
The event page clearly indicates that no places remain and offers other events to explore.
Host information needs operational support.
The concept presents host details and guidelines to inform participation. A live service would need defined responsibilities for reviewing hosts, handling concerns and communicating event changes.
[09 · PRODUCT & BRAND SYSTEM]
The brand behaves like the product.
REVERDE applies the same principle across its interface and communication: make the next step clear without adding pressure. A shared voice, component logic and visual vocabulary connect missions, memories and events while preserving the needs of each task.
Use language to guide without evaluating.
Short, concrete wording clarifies the next action without prescribing how the experience should feel. Prompts leave the response open; confirmations name what happened without urgency, guilt, scores or judgement.
LANGUAGE IN USE
Keep the structure familiar as the task changes.
Mission Cards, Journal Entries and Event Cards share rules for typography, spacing and contextual labels. Their information hierarchy changes with the task: assessing an activity, revisiting a memory or considering participation.
Carry the same identity beyond the interface.
Re + Verde expresses renewal through the name, while “Still, we grow” carries that idea into the verbal identity. Colour, typography, recurring shapes and patterns connect product screens with communication materials.
Accessibility criteria
Calm should not mean low contrast.
Readable contrast, scalable type, clear action hierarchy, labelled controls, visible states and motion-independent cues remain implementation criteria to verify—not evidence of tested accessibility compliance.
[10 · PROPOSED COMMUNICATION & ACTIVATION]
Every touchpoint should lead somewhere real.
The proposed communication model connects each invitation to a specific mission, event or reflective prompt—not a generic landing page. Its destination explains what taking part involves before asking for action.
Connect each invitation to the experience it describes.
A poster or social post for “Still, We Walk” leads to the relevant Mission Details, where place, time and effort can be understood before starting.
STILL, WE WALK
Poster or social post → Mission Details → Start mission → Walk offline
Let one campaign language support distinct invitations.
“Still, We…” creates recognition without sending every message to the same destination. Each variation connects to the product experience that matches its purpose.
- STILL, WE WALK A nearby mission
- STILL, WE PAUSE A place-based prompt
- STILL, WE PLANT A local Event
- STILL, WE REMEMBER A return to a saved memory
Measure movement, not exposure alone.
The proposed evaluation asks whether communication leads to relevant product views and actions. Mission starts and Event joins are in-product signals; offline completion or attendance would require separate follow-up.
Channels and evidence limits
Give each channel a defined job.
- PAID
- Build local reach and compare which invitations lead to relevant product views.
- OWNED SOCIAL
- Explain missions, Events and seasonal prompts before asking for action.
- PHYSICAL
- Connect a message encountered in a place to an activity nearby.
- DIRECT
- Support preparation and voluntary continuity through selected communication.
Reported participation is not proof of impact.
A completion response records what someone reports; it does not independently verify the activity. Wellbeing improvement or reduced screen time would require separate research, and neither is claimed as an outcome of this concept.
[11 · OUTCOME & REFLECTION]
One product promise, carried from experience to communication.
REVERDE became a focused mobile concept spanning product, brand and communication. It taught me that an invitation is only credible when the product explains and enables what it promises. AI-assisted workflows widened the alternatives I could examine, while prioritisation and final decisions remained mine.

Next, I would test three decisions with urban adults: assess whether a mission fits, finish without reflecting, and join an Event without following its Circle. Nature remained familiar while I found my place in a new culture, shaping my motivation to design quieter ways for people to connect with nature and one another without pressure to perform socially.
